Blake Mycoskie always dreamed about launching a successful business. He partnered with many different people and launched a few unsuccessful businesses, but he wasn’t passionate about the products or ideas. In 2002, Mycoskie traveled to Argentina to compete in The Amazing Race with his sister. He realized that many families in Argentina were too poor to afford shoes. So he created TOMS, a simple canvas slip-on shoe with the goal of providing free shoes to youth in developing nations for every pair sold. It worked, and in 2020 Blake’s net worth is around $300 million. But the best part? TOMS has given away more than 60 million pairs of shoes.
