Marshawn Lynch is a prime example of someone that ignored the haters. Lynch grew up in a rough neighborhood in Oakland, California, and people wrote him off. He attended the University of California, majoring in social welfare while playing football. After three years, he was drafted into the NFL and had an impressive 12-year (and counting) career.
What’s the most impressive part? Lynch makes sure to give back to the community, focusing on advising troubled youth and people in need. He was featured in Red Bull’s campaign “Athletes Give Back” when he put together a successful food drive for his hometown.
